are you willing to be a neighborhood coach?
A Neighborhood Coach is simply someone who has a heart to share the gospel with their neighbors and friends, and is willing to be used by God to lead the way, right where you live, work or play. Our prayer is for God to raise up Christ-followers who are willing to be the O.N.E. - a person who is Obligated to their Neighbor’s Eternity. Not only do you want to share the gospel personally, but you are willing to be trained yourself, and help other believers who live around you to do the same. Together, you will reach your community.
Here are four simple steps:
1) Believe God has put you where you are for the greater purpose of sharing the gospel.
2) Start praying by name for the people right around you. Begin prayer walking your neighborhood.
3) Look for needs and act on them, being sensitive to opportunities that serving your neighbors can bring for conversations about spiritual things.
4) Share your story of salvation and present the complete gospel.
“We’re seeing it happen in our own community.”
People ask us, “Why do you believe this will work?” Our answer is, “Because we’re seeing it happen in our own community.” God gave us a burden for our neighbors several years ago. We started to see that it wasn’t coincidence or accident that brought us to the place we lived. We began asking God for our neighbors, and started prayer walking our street. Soon, we met other believers. We invited them to join us to pray, and divided up our neighborhood into sections. Today, every neighbor in our subdivision is being prayed for by name on a regular basis. We’re asking God to give us opportunities so that every single neighbor has the chance to hear the gospel presented to them personally. The results are up to God, but we’re asking for a great movement of His Spirit, so that He gets all the glory.
